Cookie policy

Last updated 28 July 2026. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Gallerite Ltd uses, and how to control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. We also use your browser's local storage for a small number of preferences.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for Gallerite to work — you cannot switch them off without breaking sign-in and galleries. They do not track you across other websites.

  • Sign-in cookies (for example gallerite-access-token for photographers and gallerite-admin-token for staff) — keep you securely signed in. These are HttpOnly.
  • Session refresh cookie — renews your signed-in session securely and is limited to the sign-in path.
  • Gallery session cookie — set after a Client enters a gallery PIN, so they stay in that gallery.
  • Sign-in-with-Google security cookie — a short-lived token that protects the Google sign-in flow against cross-site request forgery.

3. Preferences

We store two preferences in your browser's local storage (not cookies): your theme choice (light or dark) and whether you have already seen our intro animation. These stay on your device and are not sent to advertising networks.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Gallerite so we can improve it. It sets cookies such as _ga. We enable IP anonymisation, and we do not use the data for advertising. These are the only non-essential cookies we use.

We do not use advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.

5. How to control cookies

You can manage or delete cookies — including analytics cookies — through your browser settings; most browsers let you block or remove cookies from all or specific sites. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on to disable Google Analytics. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in and galleries from working.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use; we will post the new version here with an updated date. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data. Questions? Email privacy@gallerite.com.
